CGSA Oak Brook Program Night
An educational and informative gathering at K2N Crest office, 1010 Jorie Blvd, suite 320, in Oakbrook. Hybrid gathering with Zoom link available for remote participants.
Join us in community and conversation this Saturday in OakBrook as guest speaker Ronald Lizcano, Chief Development Officer at The Center on Halsted shares what the center is doing to support the trans and queer communities in greater Chicago. CGSA will also be partnering with the Center to fundraise for them as part of our December 12 holiday gala.
Ronald is a fierce advocate for civil rights who previously worked at Lambda Legal and will also share an update on the status of Lambda Legal's work advocating for trans rights challenging recent executive orders and legislation. Given Ronald's vast experience helping non-profits fundraise and grow, we're also hoping to leverage his learnings to help build CGSA's future.
The meeting is at K2N Crest, 1010 Jorie Blvd, Suite 3200 Oak Brook IL 60523.

CGSA Arlington Heights Program Night
Join us for our 13th Annual Chili Cook Off!
For November 10, we will feature our popular chili cook off, open to all. For those not good with chili, some of us make corn bread or other complimentary entrees. No entree or submission is required. Historically, we have had widely varied flavors that are so interesting and pleasing. This is a great opportunity to network with others from the community with good food and conversation. Awards will be presented for best submissions.
We typically have one hour of social from 7:00 - 8:00 pm followed by an hour-long presentation on a topic of interest. These private events for us in the safe and spacious confines of the Arlington Alehouse.
There’s plenty of free parking on surrounding streets or in the adjacent parking ramp.
And there’s plenty of space to change in the restrooms if needed.

Rori’s "T" Party
Join us for one of the largest monthly gatherings of the gender diverse community in the Chicago Suburbs, Rori’s T-Party has helped a lot of us with our coming-out process. Join us starting at 7 pm on Thursday, October 15, at Big Shot Piano Bar, 2 S VaIl Ave in Arlington Heights for dinner, drinks, music, dancing, companionship, and mutual support.
CGSA Northwest Social
On Tuesday, October 13, beginning at 7 pm we will gather at the Artlington Ale House at 111 W Campbell St., 3rd floor, in Arlington Heights, for a viewing of the Smithsonian Channel program “Beyond Stonewall: Exploring LGBTQ+ History”. We will provide popcorn, cookies, and snacks. Viewing will begin at 8 pm with social time beforehand and discussion after the program. Come and be inspired by the struggles and victories of our predecessors!

Power of PFLAG Conference
PFLAG has been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ rights for half a century. The PFLAG Council of Northern Illinois (PCNI) is holding their biennial conference this Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the NIU Naperville Conference Center; 1120 E Diehl Road in Naperville. CGSA members and friends will be attending and presenting at this informative, affirming, and uplifting conference.

Private Sale of Preowned clothing
Join us for a fun, safe, and welcoming private clothes shopping event for CGSA members, supporters, and their friends on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the TLR Gives Back Foundation warehouse at 80 S. Fairbanks, Unit 6, in Addison, IL.
Enjoy shopping for clothing, shoes, jewelry, and more while socializing in an inclusive, non-judgmental environment. Changing rooms and styling advice will be available. Light snacks and drinks will be served—grab a friend or two and come shop with us!

CGSA Picnic
Everyone is welcome at our annual picnic. It is at a Forest Preserve shelter and will have a large spread of food. CGSA will bring a grill, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, buns, condiments, plates, napkins and water. Please bring side dishes, deserts, snacks and appetizer and your favorite beverage. Alcoholic drinks are allowed.

Delaney Beh (they/them) a nonbinary Christian pastor, theologian, and advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion will speak about their University of Chicago Divinity School Master's Thesis "A Case for Gender Non-Conforming Space in the Church through an Analysis of Its History”. As a Pastor for one of many open and affirming places of worship in the Chicago area, Delaney is committed to creating spaces where faith and gender can be explored with honesty, compassion, and hope.
This is an exciting and informative program not to be missed! We encourage everyone to invite interested friends and family knowing that all are welcome and that zoom attendance is available.

Summer Soirée
Join us for our Summer Soirée at the Embassy Suites in Lombard.
This is a fabulous opportunity to share an evening of fun and friendship with two legacy Chicago organizations, Chi-Town Gender Alliance and the Chicago Gender Society, as we come together to celebrate and support the Chicago area transgender community.
Our event will also be recognizing the Kristal Larson and the Lake County LBGTQ+ Center for their work in supporting our community.
Our evening activities include a full buffet dinner, cash bar and cocktail hour, music and dancing to a DJ followed by a A Parisian Fashion Show Afterparty, so Haute Couture should be on full display! Everyone and all genders are welcome to participate in the Fashion Show.

Chicago Pride Parade
We will have a float in the parade. This will be a very memorable experience being in front of huge enthusiastic crowds along the parade route. Parade starts at 11:00 am. Karen Perta, an Assistant Professor from Elmhurst University who conducts research on gender-affirming voice training, will be sharing her insights about transgender voice training and specialized voice apps. Karen is highly credentialed with degrees in Communications, Speech and Language and earned her PhD. From Ohio State University. Dr. Perta has been a voice-specialized medical speech-language pathologist for 15 years.
